Dr. Laric is Co-Director of the Center for Technology Commercialization at the University of Baltimore’s Merrick School of Business where he is a Professor of Marketing and Entrepreneurship. The author of numerous books, scholarly articles and technical papers, he developed and delivered business and marketing seminars which attracted thousands of managers in North America, Europe and the Middle East.
Dr. Laric has over 35 years of experience in business and marketing. He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science and an MA in business from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. His Ph.D., in Marketing is from the City University of New York. A certified New Products Development Professional, Dr. Laric has consulted with Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and startup companies in the areas of new products’ strategy, technology commercialization and business formation.
Since coming to the University of Baltimore, Dr. Laric has also served as Chair of the Marketing Department, Academic Associate Dean of the Merrick School, and most recently as the Director of the Management and Marketing Division. He serves on the boards of several privately-owned start-ups. |
Ralph S. Blakeney is the Acting Program Director and Technology Procurement Specialist at the Maryland Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). He specializes in providing Management and Technical Assistance to technology companies seeking to offer their products and services to federal, state and local governments.
Over the past 4 years, in the capacity of Technology Procurement Specialist, Ralph has provided Management and Technical Assistance to scores of technology companies in the areas of federal, state and local government procurement. He has assisted companies in preparing SBIR grant proposals, transferring technologies from federal laboratories, developing business and marketing plans, as well as obtaining state and federal government certifications and schedules. Ralph conducts workshops and seminars that include Marketing to the Federal Government, DoD RFID Requirements and Cost Proposal Preparation.
Ralph was formerly the Executive Manager of Service Operations for Digital Equipment Corporation’s Federal Government Computer and Information Technology Services worldwide. He spent 9 years as an entrepreneur – founder and CEO of Peak Performance Technologies – a management consulting and training firm to small and midsized technology companies.
Ralph is a well sought after speaker on government procurement and business management topics and is a board member of various organizations and companies. He holds an Advanced Certificate in Electronic Technology, a B.Sc. in Business Administration, a M.Sc. in Management, is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Management of Service Operations executive program and a graduate of the Pacific Institute of Business and Management Development. |
Emmett Anderson as the Sr. Corporate Director of the Small Business “Prime” affiliation for Nortel Government Solutions since 2006 has had the privilege of signing up 60+ Small Business as Prime contractors to assist them in closing Federal Government contracts. The contracts that have been awarded to the SDB Prime contractors have generated several million dollars in Prime contractor revenue; and have allowed Nortel Government Solutions to be a sub-contractor to the SDB Prime by providing Nortel product and professional services to our SDB Prime contractors.
Emmett Anderson brings 36+ years of IT experience to his current position. This experience was cultivated by 21 years of ownership as President/CEO of his SDB company, Columbia Services Group, Inc. (CSG). Emmett Anderson grew CSG to over 200 employees, with multimillion dollars in revenue from Federal Government contracts.
Prior to establishing CSG, Mr. Anderson was an executive with IBM. During his 15 year career with IBM Emmett Anderson was a Marketing Representative, marketing staff instructor, first line sales manager, Defense/Civil Branch manager, National Plans and Requirement Manager for Health Industry and organizer of the National State Education Advisor program for Elementary and Secondary Education.
As a native of Denver Colorado, Mr. Anderson attended Colorado University where he received his BA degree. He also attended the Harvard Business School through the IBM Executive Management program.
Mr. Anderson is married to Pat Anderson. They have 4 young adults and 13 Grandchildren and 1 great Grandchild.
